Welcome to a key entry in the pantheon of Vigatour. Named for one. Built for a people.

The Bacha Amazigh Cardigan begins with a name.

Roza Bacha was one of Vigatour's first models. One of the first believers. She wore the brand before it had its full shape and that kind of trust earns something permanent. Not a mention. A piece. A piece built around where she comes from and what her people have carried.

She is Amazigh. And so is this cardigan.

The Amazigh are the indigenous people of North Africa. Berber is the name outsiders gave them. They have always called themselves Amazigh. Free people. Their language is Tamazight. Their alphabet is Tifinagh. Their mark of identity is the Yaz. Their history stretches back thousands of years and for much of the twentieth century, it was suppressed. Not erased. Suppressed. There is a difference.

On the twentieth of April 1980, that suppression broke.

In Tizi Ouzou, Algeria, a lecture on ancient Amazigh poetry was banned by the state. Students and workers refused the silence. They moved through the streets of Kabylia demanding their language be spoken, their culture recognised, their people acknowledged. It became known as the Amazigh Spring (or Tafsut Imaziɣen). A cultural awakening that came not from power, but from pride. Not from above, but from below.

This cardigan is built in the colour and spirit of that moment.

The blocks of colour are bold and vertical but they do not simply sit still. The pattern draws from the dervishes of North Africa, who spin as a form of spiritual discipline. They whirl until the self dissolves and only truth remains. When this cardigan moves, the colours behave the same way. They rotate with the body. They carry motion even in stillness. Wear it and you feel it. Watch it and you understand what it is referencing.

Green for land. Red for resistance. Teal for depth and sky. Cream for the structure that holds it all together. The palette is not decorative. It is a record.

The silhouette is a V-neck cardigan. Clean, considered and classic. It does not announce itself from across the room. It rewards the person who comes closer. From a distance it reads as bold colour. Up close you begin to read the story beneath it.

This is a made-to-order piece. Just as it was first made for Roza, each version is made for whoever wears it next. It belongs to someone. That is the point.

Wear it open over a fitted black set for the full visual impact. Wear it buttoned with wide trousers and a clean heel for quiet authority. Wear it however you move through the world. It will carry the weight.

This is Vigatour's homage to a lady who was there from the beginning. And to a people who never stopped being present.
